Welcome to the NormaTec Via Series
The NormaTec Via Series are precision medical instruments and are available only by the prescription of a licensed healthcare practitioner. These modern devices were developed by a doctor as a sophisticated way to treat circulation related disorders. They supply electronically programmed and calibrated pneumatic compression via the patented NormaTec Pulse Technology, which gently and effectively mobilizes fluid out of the limbs. The dynamic compression therapy that the NormaTec Via provides reduces swelling and increases blood flow, heal wounds, and prevents the development of deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

Using the Via Series
The NormaTec Via Series is designed for maximum ease of use. Setting up, using, and caring for a pneumatic compression device has never been easier:
UNPACK YOUR VIA SYSTEM
Depending on your prescription, your NormaTec Via or Via Elite will come with arm, leg, OR hip attachment(s). Your system also comes with a control unit hose, power supply, and stockinet.
CONNECT THE POWER AND HOSE
Plug the Power Supply into an electrical outlet and then into the NormaTec Via Series Control Unit. Click the NormaTec Hose into the Air Outlet on the NormaTec Via Series Control Unit.
PUT ON LEG ATTACHMENT(S)
Find a comfortable seated position, with your legs straight, pull a stockinet over your leg, and then slide it into the leg attachment. Zip the leg attachment up completely.
PUT ON ARM ATTACHMENT(S)
Find a comfortable seated position, pull a stockinet over your arm, and slide it into the arm attachment. Secure the attachment by fastening the buckle, after going around your torso. The NormaTec logo should face forward.
PUT ON HIP ATTACHMENT
Step into the hips like a pair of shorts, with the gray hose connectors at your waist. Buckle the hip straps. Then, lie down in a comfortable place with your legs straight.
CONNECT THE ATTACHMENT(S)
Connect the NormaTec Hose to your attachment(s). You will hear an audible click when they connect. If you are only using one attachment, please see the NormaTec Via system User Manual for directions on using the Blocking Plug.
START THE TREATMENT
Firmly press the On/Off Button on the top of the NormaTec Via Series control unit. Press the Start Button to begin your treatment. You can press the Pause Button to stop the treatment at any time. Your NormaTec Via system will remember your last settings for your next treatment.
Patented NormaTec Pulse Massage Pattern
The NormaTec Via Series uses a patented compression massage pattern that combines three distinctive massage techniques to speed the body’s normal recovery process and help restore healthy circulation. This sophisticated approach to compression therapy sets the NormaTec Via Series apart from other compression devices. The patented massage technique bio-mimics essential, physiological mechanisms of a health circulatory system:
Gradients—keep fluids from being forced toward feet
Veins and lymphatic vessels have one-way valves that prevent backflow of fluid. Similarly, NormaTec's Patented Pulse Technology utilizes gradient hold pressures to keep your body’s fluids from being forced down toward your feet by the pulsing action in proximal zones. Because of this enhancement, The NormaTec Via Series can deliver maximum pressure throughout the entire limb and the effectiveness of the pulsing action is not diminished near the top of the limb.
Pulsing—dynamic compression through massaging, not static hold
Instead of using static compression (squeezing) to transport fluid out of the limbs, NormaTec’s Pulse Technology uses dynamic compression (pulsing). Our patented pulsing action more effectively mimics the muscle pump of the legs and arms and is designed to enhance the movement of fluid out of the limbs.
Distal Release—prevents backflow of fluids, lets limbs rest
Because extended static pressure can be detrimental to the body’s normal circulatory flow, the patented NormaTec Pulse Technology releases hold pressures once they are no longer needed to prevent backflow. By releasing the hold pressure in each zone as soon as possible, each portion of the limb gains maximal rest time without needing to stop and wait between compression sequences.
